Setting Up Split/Merge Rules
What is a split/merge rule?
A split/merge rule defines which services you allow to be divided (split) or combined (merged). The rules allow a client to split or merge any service that is sold as a part of a package. For example, you may want to allow a client to split a 60-minute massage into two 30-minute massages.
How do I configure merge rules?
When you add a split rule to a service, the rule also works in reverse as a merge rule. Using the example above, two 30-minute massages could be redeemed (combined) for a 60-minute massage. Note that all services and quantities you add to the Split/Merge tab are grouped, so you essentially have one split/merge rule per service. In the example below, splitting the service will result in 2 ARDTX and 2 ARNVG services, not one or the other. The same rules apply in reverse when merging.
To create a split/merge rule
Note: To create split/merge rules for a service, your location must be the owner of the service.
- Locate the service and select the Split/Merge tab, and then select Edit.
- Select a service from Split Services and select Add to add the service to the list.
- Change the Quantity, if necessary.
- Repeat step 2 and step 3 as many times as desired.
- When finished, select Save.
