Assigning a Membership to an Employee
To assign a membership to an employee
- Make sure that you've selected a Default Employee Membership in Business Preferences.
- Associate a client profile with your employee. This can be done during initial creation of the employee profile or while editing an existing employee profile.
Note: You can also sell an employee membership in the register to an employee's associated client profile.
Details on employee memberships:
- The Enrollment Date is the date that the membership was assigned to the employee's associated client profile.
- The membership's cost is 0, but billing options (insert, delete, waive, etc.) are available.Accrued services can still expire according to the rules in Business Information.
- Accrued services can still expire according to the setting in Business Preferences > Memberships.
- The employee membership (via the associated client profile) can accrue services, transfer accrued services, freeze the membership, and Insert/Delete/Waive EFTs. The membership itself can also be transferred between locations.
What happens if I select a default employee membership in Business Information after I already associated a client profile with an employee profile?
Meevo does not retroactively assign employee memberships. So, if you selected a Default Employee Membership after the fact, you can sell employee memberships in the register to the associated client profiles.
Alternatively, to take advantage of Meevo's automatic assignment functionality, you can:
- Edit the employee profile and clear the Associated Client Profile field.
- Save the employee profile.
- Edit the employee profile again and re-select the profile you removed in step 1.
- Save the employee profile. Upon save, the default employee membership will be assigned to the associated client profile.
How does this work for multi-location employees?
If an employee has a profile at two different locations (is a multi-location employee):
- You can assign an employee membership at each location, regardless of the employee's home location. The membership can be different at each location.
- If changing the employee's Home Location, Meevo does not change or terminate the assigned employee memberships; they remain static.
- The associated employee membership is also canceled on the termination day, with the Employee Terminated Cancellation Reason.
- Accrued services can still expire according to the setting in Business Preferences > Memberships.
Note: If you are terminating a multi-location employee at the employee's Home Location, the employee membership will also be canceled at the employee's other locations, but only if the employee profile at those locations has the same associated client profile as the Home Location. Otherwise, if there are different associated client profiles at those locations, the memberships remain unchanged.
What happens to the membership if an employee is terminated?
Any associated employee membership is also canceled on the termination day, with the Employee Terminated Cancellation Reason. Any accrued services will expire according to the setting in Business Preferences > Memberships.
