Changing a Client's Membership

To get to Membership Manager, type mm into the Convobar, or go to Meevo > Membership > Membership Manager.

What are the limitations on changing a client membership?

A client can change to a different membership only if the old and new memberships are both set to recurring billing, and only if the first recurring payment has not yet been processed on the current membership. Otherwise, the current membership must be canceled and a new one purchased.  

Also note that a client can have only one active, counting membership at a time.

Anything else I should know about changing memberships?

Here are some scenarios and outcomes when a membership is changed in Membership Manager:

  • If the new membership includes an enrollment package, both the fee and package of the new membership are ignored. The client receives the new membership's EFT schedule, including any recurring fees and packages.
  • If changing to a membership that has a higher enrollment fee than the client's current membership, the client does not pay the difference.
  • If changing to a membership that has a lower enrollment fee than the client's current membership, the client does not receive a refund.
  • If the old membership included an enrollment package, all unused accrued services from the package get rolled over to the new membership. If the client used all of the services in the package, nothing rolls over to the new membership.

To change a client membership

  1. Locate the client in Membership Manager.
  2. Select the Main tab and select the Active membership. The Current Membership field is only available for Active or Not Active memberships.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. In Current Membership, select the new membership.
  5. When finished, select Save.
