Pairing the SocketScan S720 Scanner

The SocketScan S720 Scanner is a Bluetooth-enabled scanner. After pairing the scanner to a device (computer, laptop, tablet, or Apple device), the scanner is ready for use.

To become familiar with your scanner, we highly recommend reviewing the SocketScan S720 Get Started Guide before proceeding with these steps.

 

Charging the scanner

Charge the scanner using the provided USB cable or the power supply (sold separately).

  1. Turn off your device.
  2. Connect the USB cable from the scanner to the a USB port on the device.
  3. Power the device back on. While charging, the small LED flashes orange. When it is finished charging, that LED turns a solid green.

 

Pairing the scanner with your device

The scanner can be used with Bluetooth-capable devices (computers, laptops, tablets, and Apple devices). Be sure to refer to the SocketScan S720 Get Started Guide for programming barcodes, unpairing steps, and other helpful content.

  1. Scan the Basic Keyboard Mode bar code from the SocketScan S720 Get Started Guide.
  2. Set your personal computer, laptop, tablet, or Apple device so that it searches for other Bluetooth devices. If necessary, refer to your device documentation for details on how to achieve this.
  3. Once your device has located the scanner, select the S720 scanner from the list. Some computers, laptops, or tablets will automatically pair with the scanner. If this happens, your device will display a successful pairing message and pairing is complete.
  4. Test the scanner by opening Notepad or a similar app and scanning a barcode. Confirm the barcode appears correctly.

 

Using the Scanner with Meevo

  • Once connected in Basic Keyboard Mode, the scanner works like a keyboard input device.
  • Place your cursor in a Meevo field (e.g., product search, barcode field) and scan to input data.
