About the CareCredit Integration

CareCredit® is a health, wellness, and personal care credit card that helps patients get the care they want and need, without delaying appointments or treatment.

Cost concerns may prohibit patients from getting the care they want, when they want it. By accepting the CareCredit credit card, you can give patients a way to fit the cost of beauty care into their monthly budget. And, with CareCredit, patients have a dedicated card they can use again and again to maintain their look over time, as long as they have credit available.

CareCredit’s Meevo integration will help save time, streamline the payment process and minimize human error.

Enable the CareCredit integration in the MeevoXchange under Integrations.

  • If you already have a CareCredit account: After enabling the integration, you can begin Setting Up a CareCredit Merchant Account using your current CareCredit Merchant ID.

How does CareCredit integrate with Meevo?

After you enable the integration and obtain a CareCredit Merchant ID, you will be able to create a CareCredit Merchant Account. When that Merchant Account is active, a CareCredit payment tile will be available in the register. To finalize a transaction, you'll select the CareCredit payment tile, complete the CareCredit workflow, and submit the payment, all within Meevo. You can also enable or disable CareCredit-provided promotions and define your own minimum purchase amounts for those promotions.

Note: CareCredit is a system Payment Type. System Payment Types do not appear under Payment Types, as they cannot be edited.

Can I use the CareCredit Provider Portal if I have the CareCredit Meevo integration?

Yes! CareCredit transactions from Meevo appear in the Provider Portal in real-time.

What else do I need to know regarding the CareCredit integration?

Purchase items and tips

CareCredit training, provided by CareCredit, provides guidelines on which items are permitted in a CareCredit transaction. Meevo does not prevent you from adding any item to the Smart Receipt in a CareCredit transaction, so it is the responsibility of your business to ensure that Meevo users are properly trained.

Merchant Account

You can only have one active CareCredit Merchant Account per location.

Transactions

  • Only one CareCredit card can be authorized per transaction. If a client wants to use multiple CareCredit cards:
  1. Ring up half (or one-third, or one quarter, etc. depending on how many cards are being used) of the transaction amount on a CareCredit card.
  2. Place the remaining transaction balance on the client's account, and finalize the transaction.
  3. On a new transaction, pay off the client account balance with the client's remaining CareCredit cards.
  • CareCredit cards are processed by manually entering an account number; you cannot swipe or store on file a CareCredit card.
  • Once a CareCredit payment is authorized and applied to a transaction, it cannot be removed from the Smart Receipt, and the transaction itself cannot be no-saled.
  • Completed CareCredit transactions can be edited or refunded, but can never be voided.
  • CareCredit cards cannot be used for payment when inserting a transaction into the past.

Receipts

CareCredit requires receipts to be physically printed and signed after the transaction. Your business must have a standard desktop printer for printing receipts that the client must sign.

How do CareCredit transactions appear in reports?

All CareCredit transactions appear under the CareCredit merchant in the MR110.

Note: Reporting does not track individual CareCredit Merchant Accounts; all CareCredit Merchant Account activity is aggregated under the CareCredit merchant.

What does a CareCredit receipt look like?

When a CareCredit payment is authorized on a transaction, that payment requires its own receipt, separate from Meevo receipts. CareCredit requires their receipts to be physically printed and signed after a transaction. This is the final step in the CareCredit payment workflow. When you print the CareCredit receipt, you are printing two separate pages:

This is the business's copy that the client signs.

This is the customer's copy of the receipt.

Just as with any other transaction, Meevo will give you the option to print a Meevo transaction receipt upon completion of the entire transaction.

How do I disable this integration?

To turn off the integration, simply inactivate the CareCredit Merchant Account.
