Deleting or Undeleting a Product

A product must first be discontinued before it can be deleted. Once a product is deleted:

  • It is no longer selectable from any Meevo forms or menus.
  • It does not appear in Meevo search results unless Deleted is selected from the Advanced menu.
  • It may still appear in Meevo reports depending on the report setup criteria.
  • If you deleted the item in Central Office, the item becomes deleted in associated locations as well.
  • Remember that only the owner (as determined by the Owned By field) of the item can delete or undelete it.

Important notes on deleting a product

  • Deleting a product does not "zero out" its on-hand count. A deleted product's on-hand counts will remain in Meevo and could potentially count towards your Inventory Value. 
  • Deleted products will no longer appear on committed inventory counts. This may impact gain/loss totals. If you still need to keep track of the gain/loss values on these items, you may consider discontinuing the product and marking it as not for sale instead of deleting it.
  • If you have already deleted a product, undeleting it will restore the previous on-hand value and it will appear in committed inventory counts once again.

 

To delete a product

Note: To delete a Product, the selected location must be the owner (Home Location) of the Product and all variants of the Product must be Discontinued.

  1. Locate the product and select it.
  2. Select Delete. A confirmation message appears.
  3. Select Yes to delete the product.

 

To undelete a product

Note: To undelete a Product, the selected location must be the owner (Home Location) of the Product. Remember to select Deleted from the Advanced Search menu to locate deleted items.

  1. Locate the product and select it.
  2. On the product's maintenance form, select Undelete > Edit > Save. It is important to select Edit and Save after undeleting, otherwise your changes will not be saved.
