Adding or Editing a Drawer

To get to Drawers, type drawer into the Convobar, or go to Meevo > Register > Drawers.

To add a drawer

Tip: If creating several records that have similar details, select Copy to create a new record with fields identical to the one you just copied. This can save you a lot of time when creating data in Meevo. 

  1. From the drawer search form, select Add New.
  2. Display Name: Enter a name that will make this item easy to identify in lists or menus in Meevo.
  3. Default Closing Cash Amount: The register will include this amount in closing cash calculations. When closing, the Expected closing amount will be the value entered here.
  4. Private Drawer: Restricts this drawer's use to one specific employee, who you assign when this option is selected.
  5. Require a Closing Note if drawer does not balance at closing: If this drawer does not balance at closing, Meevo will require the user enter a closing note before the drawer can be closed (Closing Notes becomes a required field on the Closing screen).
  6. Default Merchant Account: Makes the selected Merchant Account the default account for this drawer; Meevo will always use this Merchant Account when executing transactions from this drawer. The available Credit Card Terminal Name options depend on what you select here. Go here to learn more about Merchant Accounts.
  7. Credit Card Terminal: This will be the default credit card terminal for this drawer. The terminals that display here depend on the Default Merchant Account selected above. Select Test Connection to verify the connection.  

Note: If you are using Worldpay or CardConnect and you selected Enable Hosted Page when setting up the Merchant Account, then here is where you can select the Hosted Page as your default terminal. If you selected Hosted Page only available for use if there are no active devices currently available, then the Hosted Page will only be selectable if there are no available devices.

  1. Receipt Printer: The default receipt printer for this drawer. Select Test Receipt to verify the connection. Go here to learn how to add a receipt printer.
  2. Drawer Configuration Tip Handling: Define how to handle tip workflow when checking out a client who has a card on file.
  • Display on screen for user or client interaction:  A window pops up in Meevo, and the tip is entered manually by the Meevo user or the client on-screen. This option is essentially for card on file chair-side checkouts, where you can hand the client a tablet to tip and sign (per the signature option further below).
  • Send to credit card device for client interaction: The tip options are sent directly to the credit card device.
  • Prompt for user to choose: A window appears where you can select which way to proceed.
  1. Drawer Configuration Signature Handling: Define how to handle the signature workflow when checking out a client who has a card on file.
  • Display on screen for user or client interaction:  A window pops up in Meevo, and the client signs manually on-screen. This option is essentially for card on file chair-side checkouts, where you can hand the client a tablet to tip and sign.
  • Print receipt for client to sign: The receipt is printed for the client to sign.
  • Prompt for user to choose: A window appears where you or the client can select how to proceed.

Be sure to select Save when finished! 

To edit a drawer

Note: Some fields on the form may not be editable if the current location is not the item's Home Location. 

  1. Locate and select the drawer..
  2. Select Edit, and make your changes.
  3. When finished, select Save.
