Marking a Client as a Walkout or No-Show

What is the difference between a walkout and a no-show?

A client who is on the Walk-In Manager wait list but never shows up for the appointment is considered a "no-show." A client who checks in (via Walk-In Manager), but then leaves the location prior to the appointment, should be marked as a "walkout."

What happens when a client is marked as a walkout or no-show?

  • The appointment history will specify that a walk-in client did not show up for an appointment or walked out. Meevo differentiates between standard appointments and walk-in appointments in the appointment history.
  • No-show clients are moved to the Walk-In Manager's No-Shows list.
  • Walkout clients are removed from the Walk-In Manager entirely.

What happens if there are clients still on the Walk-In Manager wait list at close of business?

At the end of each day, the Walk-In Manager lists are cleared. Prior to being removed from lists, all appointments in the Walk-In Manager and No-Shows lists are marked as "no-shows" in the clients' appointment history.

To prevent marking clients as no-shows who were on your premises but could not be booked due to no availability, remove those clients from your Walk-In Manager list at the end of each day. Also, don't forget to review your no-show clients in the register!

To mark a walk-in client as a walkout or no-show

  1. Locate the client in the Walk-In Manager wait list.
  2. Select delete to display the pop-up window.
  3. In this window, select No Show (which displays if the client is not checked-in), or Walkout (which displays if the client is checked-in). Alternatively, select Delete to remove the client from the list with no consequence (that is, no record in the client's appointment history).
  4. Select Yes on the confirmation message. If you selected No Show or Walkout, the event is recorded in the appointment history.

To reinsert a no-show client who arrives for the appointment

If a client arrives for an appointment after you marked the client as a no-show, you can reinsert the client into the list by navigating to the No-Shows list and selecting reinsert   for that client row.
