About Employee Promotions and Terminations

How do I set up an employee promotion?

When adding a promotion, you configure common options for employees, including security, services, payroll, and commissions. You can apply an Employee Template to speed up this process, or simply edit the options in each of the steps. Promotions can take effect immediately or on a scheduled date.

Can I edit a scheduled promotion?

Yes; when you configure a promotion to be active on a future date, you can edit the settings in the promotion screen up until the date the promotion becomes active.

How does Meevo handle promotions that affect an employee's payroll?

Meevo applies the new payroll rates starting with the Set Active On date. So, you can promote an employee in the middle of a payroll period, and the employee's pre-promotion rates will be calculated up to the Set Active On date, and the post-promotion rates will be calculated going forward from the Set Active On date.

What happens in Meevo when I terminate an employee?

When an employee's termination date passes in Meevo:

  • If they are currently logged into Meevo when terminated, the employee is immediately logged out.
  • The employee is terminated and inactivated within that location only. The employee's profile is marked as Inactive and the employee's Meevo login credentials will no longer work at that location. The employee will still be active at other locations if the employee is a "multi-location employee." Since the employee is made inactive, the employee will no longer count towards your number of active user licenses (only active employees count).
  • The employee can no longer be scheduled in Schedule Manager.
  • Future appointments are not impacted. The employee's future appointments remain in the Appointment Book under the employee's column. The employee's column in the Appointment Book will disappear for a given day after you reschedule the day's appointments with other employees.
  • The associated employee membership is also cancelled on the termination day, with the Employee Terminated Cancellation Reason. Accrued services expire on the termination day as well.

Note: If you are terminating a multi-location employee at the employee's Home Location, the employee membership will also be cancelled at the other locations, but only if the employee profile at those locations has the same associated client profile as the Home Location. Otherwise, those memberships remain unchanged.

  • In the Terminate Current Employee window, you have the option to remove or leave the employee's future schedules and future blocks.
