Editing an Existing QuickBooks Desktop Connection

You can edit the settings for an existing connection at any time. However, be aware that account mapping changes are not applied retroactively, meaning any data that existed in a given account in QuickBooks prior to your edits will stay in that account unless you manually move them. How you handle this is up to you: you can move the old data into the new account manually in QuickBooks, or leave the data in the current account.

1. From the QuickBooks Desktop Main tab, select Edit an Existing Connection.
2. Which connection would you like to use? Choose the desired connection if you are using multiple connections. Otherwise, this defaults to your only connection and cannot be changed.
3. Connection Name: Change your connection name, if desired. Remember, DO NOT enter any symbols into this name; only alpha-numeric characters.
4. Follow the instructions in Setting Up QuickBooks Accounts and Payment Types and Syncing to QuickBooks Online to complete editing the existing connection.
